Traditionally, I require all English 12 students to get a blank notebook for journal writing. We typically do 2-3 journal entries a week, depending on the material we are reading. I have found that students are often left with a half-blank notebook at the end of the year, and most throw the notebook in the trash. In order to conserve energy, money, and hopefully to make the act of writing more interesting for my disgruntled seniors, I am going to attempt to create student blogs in lieu of journals. Let’s see how it goes!
